About the Role

This is a critical role with the Network Performance Team, centred upon the forward planning of the transport network to ensure its resilience and ability to meet demand placed upon the Transport Network during major events and because of planning applications.

A key part of this role, is working with both internal and external stakeholders, in ensuring that regeneration and planning proposals are subject to scrutiny in a way that ensures the City Region Public Transport Network is able to not only effectively meet any increased demand as a result of these proposals, but also is able to work to support them.

Ensuring that the Transport Network is effective in enabling economic growth through development and regeneration across the City Region and working with the Transport Planning Team to develop plans to flex the network when appropriate to support this economic development.

Supporting the resilience function of the Combined Authority is a central responsibility of this role. The postholder will play an important part of the planning of major events (both planned and unplanned) across the Liverpool City Region with attendance at stakeholder planning meetings, control meetings and joint advisory groups.

This role works cross functionally with teams across the combined authority, including Transport, Customer and Operations and others along with regular communications with Transport Operators and Local Authorities.

This is a 6 month fixed term vacancy.


About the person

You will demonstrate the ability to communicate at ease with different stakeholders both internally and externally along with being able to work to deadlines at short notice is key.

Knowledge of the Liverpool City Region public transport network across both bus and rail is critical together with an understanding of the local geography of the area.

You will have a demonstrable passion about how our Transport Network delivers for our 1.6 million residents and using your knowledge to support the network in reducing Transport Related Social Exclusion and being central to the economic benefits that are directly attributable to regeneration and redevelopments.
