About the Role
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) is looking for an experienced and highly organised Events Officer to join our Corporate Affairs team and support the delivery of a diverse programme of high-profile events across the Liverpool City Region.
This is a role for someone who understands that strategic events are much more than logistics.
Working alongside the Events Manager, you will coordinate and deliver events that support the Combined Authority’s priorities, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and promote the Liverpool City Region to important regional, national and international audiences.
You will work across the organisation with colleagues in Corporate Affairs, Communications, Marketing, the Mayor’s Office, Chief Executive’s Office and directorates across the LCRCA. You will also work closely with external partners, suppliers, speakers and senior stakeholders, including elected officials, senior government representatives and other high-profile public and private sector organisations.
The role will involve supporting events from initial concept and programme development through to planning, delivery and evaluation. This will include helping to shape event programmes, identifying and engaging relevant speakers and contributors, developing agendas and event formats, and coordinating event logistics, venues, suppliers, communications, briefing materials, stakeholder engagement and event documentation.
You will help ensure that programmes are engaging, relevant and aligned with the Combined Authority’s strategic objectives, while ensuring that events are delivered professionally, safely, accessibly and in line with organisational policies and procedures.
This is a strategic corporate events role, not a civic/public-facing event planning or party-planning position.
About the person
This is a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. You will need to be confident working to tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously and communicating professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
You will also need sound judgement and an understanding of the sensitivities involved in working within a political and public sector environment.
You will be comfortable operating in a professional government environment and communicating with stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a results-driven corporate, public sector or strategic events environment, alongside a strong track record of developing and delivering event programmes and content, including agendas, formats, speakers, contributors and audience engagement.
